One Chelsea player has declared that he believes it was actually good at Chelsea under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
The new comes after Chelsea beat Copenhagen 1-0 on Thursday night to advance into the quarter finals of the Conference League, winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate.
It wasn’t easy for Chelsea though and once again they were very bad in the first 45 minutes. It took a stunning solo goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to get The Blues over the line and into the next round.
Enzo Maresca made some big changes at half time, although one of them, removing youngster Josh Acheampong, received some criticism. Maresca has since explained his thinking behind that move.
But the bottom line is that Chelsea are through and Chelsea advance in a competition that they are expected to win.
And of course, Pochettino was sacked by Chelsea at the end of last season and they are now under the management of Enzo Maresca.
Mauricio Pochettino and Moises Caicedo talking.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo has been speaking about Chelsea’s defeat against Arsenal under Pochettino as he looks ahead to today’s match against The Gunners.
Caicedo started in last season’s 5-0 loss for Chelsea at Arsenal, a hammering which went some way to convincing the club’s owners that Mauricio Pochettino was not the man to take them forward.
‘I don’t think about that game anymore,’ Caicedo insisted of that outing when Cole Palmer was missing due to illness.
‘I’m just looking forward. Now there is a new manager, it’s going to be a new game, and we are focused. It was good with Pochettino too but now we are in a good position, the team are together if we lose, draw or win. The morale is good.’
