Chelsea lead the Premier League for agent fees paid in the past year, spending close to double the amount of any other team.

The FA have just published their list of agent fees paid by English sides between February 2025 and February 2026. Chelsea have made payments totalling more than £65 million to agents across the period, topping the list by a significant margin.

In total the Blues made more than 80 individual payments to agents in the past year. They have further increased their total this season, after already leading the league with £60 million spent on agent fees in the 2024/25 season.

However, it has not lead to greater success on the pitch with Liam Rosenior’s side currently in sixth place. It leaves Chelsea in danger of missing out on Champions League football next season, which would have significant financial implications. Consequently, concerns continue to grow over their ownership model.

The next highest total is Aston Villa, who have spent over £38 million on agent fees in the past year. They are followed by Manchester City (£37 million), Liverpool (£33 million), Arsenal (£32 million) and then Manchester United (£31 million).

The Premier League as a whole paid £460 million to agents in the past year. This represents a 13% increase on the £409 million total in 2024/25.
