Barcelona star Jules Kounde is one of the players Chelsea would be prepared to go all out for according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

The Blues are known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, and they explored a move for Marc Guehi in January, before eventually settling on recalling Trevoh Chalobah.

Chelsea have also agreed a deal for highly rated teenage centre back Mamadou Sarr and the Frenchman will link up with his new team-mates in the summer.

Chelsea would go all out for Kounde

There’s set to be a lot of movement at Chelsea defensively in the summer, with Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah both expected to leave the club.

The Blues are said to be keen on bringing Guehi back to the club, but they’ve also been linked with Kounde again, who was close to joining under Thomas Tuchel.

One report has claimed the Blues would be prepared to spend €100m on the France international, and Bailey has claimed Kounde is one player Chelsea would go all out for.

“Chelsea love Kounde, Barca have had these issues with him and are confident he will sign a new deal. He’s one of the players Chelsea would push the boat out for, he’s a spectacular player,” he told The Chelsea Chronicle.

“He’s such a brilliant fit, he’d be like the Gallas type player where he can play centrally, can play right. He would be brilliant for Chelsea.”

Barcelona are said to be close to agreeing a new deal with Kounde, although he was dropped for their latest La Liga match after reportedly missing a team meeting.

Kounde would certainly tick the boxes for Chelsea in terms of leadership and experience, and he would absolutely become the leader of the backline, with Manchester United also said to be interested.

However, at this stage it seems unlikely Kounde will be playing at Stamford Bridge next season, although you can never say never in football.
