Club Deportivo Guadalajara has established itself as an institution with the highest global quality standards, as on April 14 it formally received the certificates accrediting compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 20121 standards.
Estadio AKRON, together with Club Chivas Verde Valle, are the first venues in Latin America to obtain ISO 20121 certification in Sustainable Event Management—an international standard that validates processes designed to optimize the social, environmental, and economic impact of their operations.
In the context of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Estadio AKRON is part of a select group of venues, alongside SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and Gillette Stadium in Boston, that hold this specialized certification in event sustainability. Additionally, Chivas Verde Valle is projected to serve as one of the Team Base Camps during the tournament.
La Casa de los Mexicanos stands out as the only venue among them with a comprehensive portfolio of four international certifications, consolidating its position as a benchmark in management, quality, and sustainability within global football.
These recognitions validate the commitment, discipline, and passion demonstrated every day by all members of the club. They also ensure that all actions consistently pursue continuous improvement, reduce environmental impact, promote socially responsible practices, and guarantee safe environments for staff and supporters.
On Tuesday morning, at the main atrium of Estadio AKRON, Amaury Vergara led a symbolic ceremony to commemorate these distinctions, highlighting their significance in recognizing Club Guadalajara’s vision of positively impacting society, transcending the sporting sphere and strengthening its institutional responsibility.
“These certifications carry great significance, especially when we consider the process required to maintain them. It is not simply about saying ‘we have achieved it’ and leaving it at that; that would not constitute a true accomplishment. This culture of excellence must endure in every action we take as a club, and the four certifications validate our work and confirm that Chivas operates according to international quality standards, with clear systems, protocols, and methodologies. Every time we say we are the best team in Mexico, it should not be mere words: here is the proof and the example”, said Chivas’ president.
With this important achievement, Club Deportivo Guadalajara reaffirms its institutional leadership by setting a precedent in the global sports industry and strengthening its vision of comprehensive excellence.
