Inter Milan and AC Milan will meet with the city about the San Siro in the next couple days.

In recent weeks, Inter and Milan have begun to shift towards the idea of building a new stadium in the San Siro area, adjacent to the existing stadium.

The clubs cannot demolish the iconic stadium and build a new one in its place.

And they have rejected Sala’s idea of renovating the stadium so that they can stay in it.

But at the same time, Inter and Milan could still stay right near the San Siro. They could build a new structure on the land adjacent to the stadium.

That would be instead of building outside the city proper, in the greater metropolitan area.

First, the clubs must formally confirm their intent to build adjacent to the San Siro, though.

And then, they would have to buy the land from the city. Currently they only rent the existing San Siro.

A big step in the process has been the determination of the value of the land that Inter and Milan would prospectively be purchasing to build on.

Milan Mayor Beppe Sala confirmed yesterday that the city’s revenue agency has come up with a price tag.

Sala did not indicate the exact number that the revenue agency have arrived at in their assessment.

But according to the Gazzetta, it is in the region of €200 million.

In any event, the newspaper reports, Inter and Milan will meet with the city on the matter very soon. This should come within the next 48 hours.

The Gazzetta report that Inter are more on board with the idea of building within the San Siro than Milan.

The Nerazzurri have not taken any major steps committing to plans in the Rozzano area.

On the other hand, the Rossoneri have already bought land in the commune of San Donato.

Therefore, Inter would not consider a €200 million price tag to be too high. Milan, on the other hand, would struggle with that valuation.
