City’s Academy: The Month Ahead | OneFootball

All the information you need to know ahead of October’s fixtures for our Elite Development Squad and Under-18s.

Even with an international break in the middle of the month, Ben Wilkinson and Oliver Reiss have another busy month ahead with their respective teams.

Our EDS have had a mixed start to 2025/26 with one win, one draw and two defeats in the Premier League 2. But a 2-0 win over Napoli in the UEFA Youth League has shown what the team is more than capable of.

Reiss and our Under-18s extended our winning run to five following a thrilling derby day win over title contenders Manchester United. And our young boys in blue will be looking to extend our form into the spooky season.

Below is all the key information on October’s fixtures for both teams, including date, kick-off times and ticket information.

EDS FIXTURES

AS Monaco v City | Wednesday 1 October, 14:00 (UK) | UEFA Youth League, live on CITY+

October begins with European action for our Under-19s. We travel to AS Monaco for our second of six League Phase fixtures. Wilkinson and his team will be looking to maintain our 100% record following a 2-0 win over Napoli.

All the action will be available to watch live on CITY+ on mancity.com and on the Official Man City App, with updates also available on our Academy social channels.

Shortly after the final whistle, a detailed match report and post-match reaction will be available, with highlights and a CITY+ full-match replay to be available later that evening.

City v Reading | Sunday 5 October, 12:00 (UK) | Premier League 2, live on CITY+

City’s attention then turns back to league action when we welcome Reading to the Joie Stadium.

We are looking for our second win of the season as we chase a spot in the top 16.

Our CITY+ live stream will start just before kick-off, scheduled for 12:00 (UK), with regular updates also on our Academy Instagram and X.

Villarreal v City | Tuesday 21 October, 11:00 (UK) | UEFA Youth League, live on CITY+

A second Youth League game of the month will see us hit the road again, this time to Spain.

It’s a morning clash with Villarreal, with the CITY+ stream to start at 11:00 (UK).

Regular updates will be available on our Academy social channels before a match report and post-match reaction from Wilkinson and his players follow shortly after full-time.

Highlights and a CITY+ full-match replay will be available for viewing later in the evening.

Blackburn Rovers v City | Saturday 25 October, 11:00 (UK) | Premier League 2, live on CITY+

It’s a quick turnaround as we then travel to Blackburn Rovers for an 11:00 (UK) kick-off on Saturday 25 October.

CITY+ subscribers will be able to watch the action unfold live on our website and app with regular updates also on Academy and X.

After the game has concluded, a match report, post-match reaction, highlights and CITY+ full-match replay will be available for fans to digest.

Rotherham United v City | Tuesday 28 October, 19:00 (UK) | EFL Trophy

Wilkinson and his team then take part in a third competition this month. We face League One outfit Rotherham in our final group game of the EFL Trophy.

A draw and penalty shootout win could be enough to see City advance to the knockout stage of the competition following our win over Oldham before our defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

Available on CITY+, excluding fans residing in the UK, fans will be able to watch our Under-21s in action from 19:00 (UK).

City v Leicester City | Friday 31 October, 19:00 (UK) | Premier League 2, live on CITY+

To complete the month, City welcome Leicester to the Joie Stadium for a 19:00 (UK) kick-off, with the CITY+ stream to start just before.

U18S FIXTURES

City v Chelsea | Saturday 4 October, 11:00 (UK) | Under-18 Premier League Cup, live on CITY+

Our Under-18s begin the month with cup action. They welcome Under-18 Premier League South side Chelsea to the City Football Academy for our second group stage game of 2025/26.

Our first group fixture saw us come from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Crystal Palace. And with Chelsea’s 3-3 stalemate with Sheffield United, it’s all to play for.

City v Liverpool | Saturday 18 October, 11:00 (UK) | Under-18 Premier League North, live on CITY+

Then Reiss and his team will focus on maintaining our winning run and spot at the top of the league table.

We welcome difficult opponents Liverpool to the CFA on Saturday 18 October. The CITY+ stream will begin at kick-off, 11:00 (UK).

Stoke v City | Saturday 25 October, 11:00 (UK) | Under-18 Premier League North

To complete the month for the Under-18s, they travel to Stoke for an 11:00 (UK) kick-off in the Under-18 Premier League North.
