Regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation, Ibrahim Mbaye (18) is said to have seen his relationship with Paris Saint-Germain deteriorate in recent months. This growing tension is reportedly now prompting the capital club to consider letting their Senegalese prodigy leave.

According to reports from journalist Romain Molina, the Parisian forward’s ego has been growing steadily, fuelled in particular by his inner circle. “My son is Lamine Yamal. He’s the best; he’s better than Ousmane Dembélé,” Mbaye’s father is reported to have declared. “Why isn’t he playing?” The comments seem at odds with the Trappes-born player’s current physical condition, as he is said to have put on weight due to an unsuitable diet.

At the same time, the 18-year-old is also believed to have repeatedly turned up late for training, prompting PSG’s management to demote him in the pecking order and the coaching staff to leave him out (just 11 appearances in 2026). The tension has been exacerbated by Luis Campos’s simmering anger, as he is said to blame the player’s father for being behind several media leaks.

Mbaye wanted to join Aston Villa

Previously represented by his parents, Mbaye is now said to have joined the stable of the famous agent Jorge Mendes, without ever having been in contact with the Portuguese agent.

Faced with a lack of playing time, the Senegalese player – who has been tracked by Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea – had even expressed a desire to join Aston Villa, before Mendes ended up securing a move there for Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho (22).
