Despite recent reports suggesting the contrary, Jadon Sancho has not closed off the prospect of joining AS Roma before the window closes.
The outcast Manchester United man has been in search of his next club since the start of June, when his loan spell with Chelsea came to an end and they forked out a £5 million penalty to bypass their £25m buy obligation.

Sancho has been linked with a handful of sides over the last two months, though nothing has materialised to the point of a formal bid being submitted. It’s thought his wage demands have deterred the majority of his suitors, while his agents’ commission requests are said to have ‘frightened off’ both Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Along with his excessive financial expectations, the 25-year-old’s performances are nowhere near the level any top European sides would want from a new signing, hence why Chelsea also didn’t overly push for him to stay put at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho has recorded a measly 12 goals and six assists in 83 United appearances. For the Blues, he mustered up five goals and 10 assists in 41 matches.
Roma’s proposal to United was worth a total of £20m, with INEOS prepared to facilitate the deal in hopes of finally getting Sancho off the books once and for all. He is now in the final year of his contract in M16, and the board are reluctant to watch him leave for nothing at the end of the campaign.
According to Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini, the Englishman has left the door open to a potential switch to the Stadio Olimpico in the coming days.
Gasperini told Gazzetta dello Sport this weekend: “Sancho has never said no to Roma. There are eight days left. This is a good team, anyway.”
