Flamengo has officially joined the roster of clubs qualified for the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place between June and July.

The Carioca club becomes the fifth team to qualify for the 22nd edition of the tournament, following their Copa Libertadores triumph. Flamengo clinched a 1–0 victory over Palmeiras on Saturday at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, the Peruvian capital.

Before this latest triumph, four teams had already booked their tickets: Al Ahly Jeddah, champions of the 2024/25 AFC Champions League; Paris Saint-Germain, winners of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League; Pyramids FC, African champions; and Cruz Azul, crowned in the CONCACAF Champions League.

It should be noted that the places for the 2029 edition, according to the new format introduced in 2025 in the United States, are allocated as follows:

12 for Europe, 6 for South America, 4 for Africa, 4 for Asia, 4 for CONCACAF, 1 for Oceania, and one spot for the host nation, still to be determined.
