France and Colombia meet in an international friendly at Northwest Stadium on Sunday, with both teams using the fixture to sharpen their World Cup preparations.
France arrive in strong form after beating Brazil, while Colombia will be keen to respond after their first defeat in a year.
Colombia captain James Rodríguez is expected to keep his place and is closing in on a major appearance milestone. At the same time, Luis Díaz remains the headline attacking threat for Néstor Lorenzo’s side.
Yerry Mina is a notable absentee on this US tour, and Jhon Durán is also missing, which slightly reduces Colombia’s depth in the final third.
The squad list published by UEFA also shows a balanced core built around Camilo Vargas, Daniel Muñoz, Dávinson Sánchez, Jefferson Lerma, Richard Ríos, Jhon Arias and Jhon Córdoba, giving Colombia a strong spine for this test.
France is missing several possible starters, with Jules Koundé, William Saliba, and Bradley Barcola all absent from this camp. Saliba has been replaced by Maxence Lacroix due to a left ankle injury.
Kylian Mbappe remains the focal point of Didier Deschamps’ attack after returning from injury, and France’s squad also includes options such as Aurélien Tchouameni, Desire Doue and Lucas Chevalier.
Deschamps has hinted at rotation after the win over Brazil, so players such as Pierre Kalulu, Rayan Cherki and Hugo Ekitike could be in line for minutes as France continue to refine their World Cup group.
Colombia’s impressive nine-game unbeaten run under Néstor Lorenzo came to an end with a 2-1 defeat against Croatia in Orlando, after going a full year without losing in all competitions.
Before that setback, Colombia’s form had been one of the strongest in South America, with statement results in World Cup qualifying and friendlies built on a compact defensive block and quick transitions led by Luis Díaz and James Rodríguez.
France arrived on the back of a 2-1 win over Brazil, a result achieved despite playing much of the second half with ten men after Dayot Upamecano’s red card, and it further underlines their status as one of the favourites for the World Cup.
Kylian Mbappé once again made the difference in that game, scoring the opener and moving closer to France’s all-time scoring record, while Hugo Ekitike also found the net to continue his push for a permanent place in Didier Deschamps’ plans.
Colombia: Vargas; Munoz, Sanchez, Lucumi, Cabal; Lerma, Rios; J. Arias, Rodriguez, Diaz; Suarez
France: Maignan; Kalulu, Konate, Lacroix, Digne; Kante, Rabiot; Olise, Cherki, Ekitike; Mbappe
