Real Sociedad star and known Arsenal transfer target Martín Zubimendi has set his sights on a summer move to Real Madrid.

That’s according to transfer insider Santi Aouna, who has on Friday provided an insight into the latest on the saga.

The name of midfielder Zubimendi has of course long been a prominent one in the headlines in Spain and England alike.

This comes after widespread reports surfaced that an agreement is all but in place, for the 26-year-old to make the move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal this summer.

Amid a search for reinforcements in the middle of the park for next season, Arteta is said to have identified his fellow countryman as the ideal profile.

Safe to say, then, that the latest upate on the situation to have surfaced on Friday will no doubt mark a source of concern for those of a Gunners persuasion.

This comes amid the revelation on the part of Santi Aouna that:

‘Martín Zubimendi is prioritising a move to Real Madrid this summer. Real Madrid are very interested and are said to have personally explained their plans to Zubimendi.’
