How much will Ismael Saibari actually cost FC Bayern? There are conflicting reports regarding the transfer fee for the star attacker.
Ismael Saibari’s transfer to FC Bayern is on the verge of being finalized. He has passed his medical exam, the contract has been drawn up through 2031, and the official announcement is likely just a formality.
However, uncertainty remains regarding the details of the transfer fee negotiated with Saibari’s former club, PSV Eindhoven. Most recently, Sky reported that Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, had managed to push the guaranteed transfer fee for the Moroccan international below the 50 million euro mark. According to this report, the total amount, including bonus payments, is expected to be no more than 52 million euros.
According to information from FCBinside, however, this account has raised eyebrows among those involved in the negotiations. The guaranteed transfer fee is reportedly 50 million euros. Bonus payments are added to this, which could bring the total package up to 55 million euros.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had also previously reported a total transfer fee of 55 million euros.
Bayern officials will naturally be interested in portraying the deal as affordable as possible. Eberl, in particular, is repeatedly accused of not negotiating hard enough—whether it comes to expensive contract extensions or transfer fees.
His future as sporting director at the record-holding champions remains uncertain. His contract with Bayern runs through June 30, 2027.
A decision on an extension is expected to be made at a supervisory board meeting following the current transfer window. Supervisory board member and Bayern chairman Uli Hoeneß recently put the odds of an extension at just “60:40.”
Regardless of the varying reports on the transfer fee, Bayern has pulled off a truly top-tier signing with Saibari. The 25-year-old is also in strong form at the World Cup, having scored in all three of Morocco’s group stage matches against Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.

In the Round of 32 against the Netherlands, he converted the decisive shot in the penalty shootout, and his team will now face Canada—featuring Bayern star Alphonso Davies—in the Round of 16. Bayern Munich officials are convinced they have signed a versatile attacking player who will significantly strengthen the squad’s quality in the long term.
The remaining contract details have also been finalized. Saibari will sign a long-term contract with the German record champions through 2031 and is expected to play a key role in Vincent Kompany’s offensive system going forward.
The transfer is on the verge of being finalized. The only remaining question is exactly how much FC Bayern will have to pay PSV Eindhoven for Saibari.
