CONMEBOL confirmed the dates, kick-off times and venues for Santos’ Copa Sudamericana play-off with Venezuela’s UCV FC, with the first leg away and the return at Vila Belmiro.

The first leg is set for Tuesday 21 July at 20:30 local time at Estádio Olímpico da U.C.V. in Caracas.

The second leg will be played on Tuesday 28 July at 21:30 at Vila Belmiro.

The dates directly affect Santos’ post World Cup calendar. Their Botafogo fixture, the 19th round and final match of the first half of the Brasileirão, had been pencilled in for the Sudamericana dates.

Given the clash, the league match is likely to be moved by the CBF. It could be postponed to a later slot, and a switch to the World Cup final weekend has not been ruled out, subject to national calendar adjustments.

Santos reached the play-offs after finishing second in their group, sealing progress with a 3-0 win over Deportivo Cuenca at Vila Belmiro.

UCV, Universidad Central de Venezuela, dropped from the Copa Libertadores after finishing third in their group and enter this round as the best third-placed side. Santos were the Sudamericana’s worst second-placed team.

The winner will progress to the last 16 of the Copa Sudamericana to face Maracá and remain in the hunt for the trophy.
