Rory Jennings is a Chelsea fan and pundit who winds a lot of people up, but even his haters can’t deny that his negative reaction to this ownership has been proved pretty much spot on since their arrival.

His reaction to the growing news that Xabi Alonso is interested in taking the manager’s job at Chelsea is similar to the reaction a lot of Blues fans have – disbelief and suspicion. Jennings went on TalkSport to explain his theory.

Alonso “clearly” using Chelsea to try for Liverpool job

“Xabi Alonso’s is agent clearly using Chelsea as a mechanism to nudge Liverpool into making a move,” Rory Tweeted to sum up his radio chat.

“There’s no way a manager of Alonso’s pedigree would consider working for the charlatans in the Chelsea boardroom, surely?”

It’s certainly something we’ve considered. We’re sure Alonso would take the Liverpool job over the Chelsea job if it was offered. Is this just a way of shaking that vacancy loose? It just feels too good to be true if we get him…

In other news…

With Emmanuel Emegha set to join Chelsea, it’s going to be very interesting to see what they do with the strikers already on their books.

Jose Mourinho’s impending move to Real Madrid could have significant effects on Chelsea’s own manager chase.
