Harry Kane is the fixture in Munich’s attack – and Bayern bosses want to make sure it stays that way in the long term. The German record champions are planning an early contract extension with the 32-year-old super striker. According to Sky, initial talks are set to begin soon.

The England international striker has been an influential player since his arrival at Säbener Straße. Although his contract still runs until 2027, Bayern want to get down to business early – and there are clear reasons for this: Kane not only scores reliably, he also influences the record champions‘ entire game.

His deep positioning, his precise balls into the gaps, his understanding of the game and his defensive work make him more of a complete attacking player than ever before. Then there is his personality: Kane has established himself as a real team leader who enriches the team not only in terms of his athleticism but also his character.

The bosses see Kane as a long-term cornerstone – and want to retain him accordingly.

A decisive factor is the €65 million release clause anchored in the contract, which can be exercised until 31 January 2026. Speculation has recently been rife that Kane could use this option to move on earlier than planned.

According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, however, there is no evidence of this. In the Sky podcast Mia san vier, he emphasizes clearly: „I am convinced that even if a club wants to pull the clause, Kane would not say yes. I currently see no indications that Kane will leave the club.“

According to Plettenberg, he knows Kane and his entourage well – and is certain that the superstar wants to stay in Munich. What’s more: an extension is absolutely conceivable.

Kane open to new talks

Particularly exciting: Plettenberg reports that there will be „initial talks“ between the striker and the club management „in the near future“. Kane himself has recently shown himself to be open to a contract extension and emphasized that he is ready for such talks.

There is talk of extending his contract by a further year – until 2028. That would be a strong signal for Bayern, especially in terms of long-term squad planning.

Those in charge are convinced that Kane can maintain his world-class level beyond the age of 33 or 34. His style of play, characterized by overview, precision and efficiency, is less dependent on explosive sprints than on game intelligence. This gives him great sporting longevity.
