Humiliated 4-0 by Atlético de Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, FC Barcelona now faces a massive challenge ahead of the return fixture set for March 3 at the Spotify Camp Nou. It was a nightmare evening, marked by a disastrous first half and a team performance that fell well short of expectations.
Despite this brutal scenario, Hansi Flick refuses to give in to fatalism. In his post-match press conference, the Barça coach acknowledged his squad's shortcomings but made his determination clear:
"We did not play well. We have to do better in the second leg. It will be very difficult, but we are going to fight."
The German manager also voiced his confusion after a controversial refereeing decision:
"I’m asking why it was offside. I don’t know what they decided. We have to accept it, but I don’t agree."
These comments, reported by the Catalan press, already set the stage for a high-tension return leg.
