According to Superdeporte, the RFEF has prioritised changing the Copa del Rey final date in Seville, with Sunday 19 April emerging as the leading option. The match had been set for Saturday 25 April but that slot is proving unworkable.

The clash with the city’s Feria and the Jerez MotoGP Grand Prix, around 90 kilometres away, strains hotel capacity and police resources. Those pressures have pushed organisers towards the previous weekend.

RFEF president Rafael Louzán, speaking in Castellón on Saturday, said there has been a change of date and that the earlier weekend carries strong possibilities. He was attending the women’s Supercopa final between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He did not specify the day of that weekend. The Europa League quarter-final second legs are on Thursday 16 April and Betis could require La Cartuja, their temporary home while Benito Villamarín is refurbished. A Saturday final would leave too little time to ready the stadium.

Shifting the Copa final would also move one or two LaLiga matchdays. Matchday 32 currently falls on the weekend of 19 April, with matchday 33 set for the midweek three days later. Louzán said they had spoken with LaLiga about the tight calendar and were aligned.
