Atalanta took revenge on Juventus for the Coppa Italia Finals of 2021 and 2024, winning 3-0 to set up a semi-final with either Bologna or Lazio.

With Kenan Yildiz not fully fit, Dusan Vlahovic and Arek Milik injured, the Bianconeri moved Andrea Cambiaso to a more advanced role, with new buys Jeremie Boga and Emil Holm on the bench for the first time. La Dea had just one win in their last five competitive games and on Sunday held Como 0-0 despite Honest Ahanor’s early red card. Giacomo Raspadori returned to the starting XI after being rested.

This was a repeat of the 2024 Final, which ended 1-0 for Juve, but was also the last time they managed to beat La Dea.

Khephren Thuram couldn’t keep the volley on target from a Francisco Conceicao pass within 10 seconds, nor could Jonathan David’s header later on.

Conceicao took matters into his own hands with two huge chances in one minute, first surprising Ahanor on a long Weston McKennie throw-in to force a tough Marco Carnesecchi save, then as the move continued his left-foot curler smacked against the crossbar.

VAR intervened for an incident that Ederson had not even noticed, when his cross took a deflection off Gleison Bremer’s fist, and the referee awarded a penalty following the On-Field Review. Gianluca Scamacca sent Mattia Perin the wrong way with a powerful spot-kick.

Bremer nodded Andrea Cambiaso’s cross wide, then McKennie scuffed a finish from six yards on a short corner.

Boga was introduced for his Juve debut and his first pass was a through ball for Conceicao, cut off by Giorgio Scalvini for a corner.

McKennie gathered with his back to goal and turned to fire over from 12 yards, while Scalvini took advantage of a heavy David first touch to put another chance out for a corner from close range.

Boga also stood up a cross for Lloyd Kelly to nod wide, while he dribbled to the by-line and the pull-back was beyond both Carnesecchi and McKennie.

Emil Holm made his Juventus debut too, but instead Atalanta doubled their lead against the run of play. Marten De Roon won it back in midfield and Raoul Bellanova’s low cross went past Nikola Krstovic, but Kamaldeen Sulemana came sliding in from seven yards.

Another substitute came off the bench to make it 3-0 for La Dea, as Lorenzo Bernasconi intercepted a wayward Bremer pass, Krstovic found Mario Pasalic, whose finish went through Lloyd Kelly’s legs, taking a slight deflection to dribble into the far bottom corner.

Khephren Thuram’s scorcher was straight at Carnesecchi, as Juve proved ultimately toothless.
