Valencia resumed work at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna this morning, after a rest day, ahead of Saturday’s game against Atlético de Madrid at Mestalla, fresh from the win over Girona.

According to AS, Carlos Corberán could have Cömert available if all goes smoothly, after the Swiss centre-back took part in part of today’s session. He was injured against Elche and missed the last two LaLiga matches, against Mallorca and Girona.

Unai Núñez is fully recovered from his issues and was included in the squad last Saturday, leaving Corberán in position to reassemble his preferred back line.

The downside was Luis Rioja, who skipped group work due to a muscle overload sustained against Girona. He trained alone, as he did yesterday on the squad’s day off at Paterna.

Thierry Correia, Copete, Diakhaby and Fouqluier remain in rehab for their respective injuries. Agirrezabala is in the final phase of his recovery and worked on the pitch.
