Corinthian-Casuals legends beat Corinthians fans in friendly match

Last Sunday, September 7th, organized Corinthians fans in London held a friendly match against the legends of Corinthian-Casuals, the People’s Team’s brother club in England, in celebration of the 115th anniversary of the club from Parque São Jorge. The English side won the match 4-2.

One event marked the match: just like in 2015 at the Neo Química Arena, idol Jamie Byatt switched shirts and represented the Bando de Loucos in the final minutes of the game. After the final whistle, there was a samba party organized by the fans.

The relationship between the clubs dates back to 1910, when a group of workers from São Paulo decided to found a popular football team, inspired by the Corinthian Football Club, an English team touring Brazil that year. Now called Corinthian-Casuals, the British club maintains ties with Timão and is considered its brother club. This historical connection is portrayed in the documentary Brothers in Football – The Story of the Two Corinthians, directed by Chris Watney and produced in partnership with Jay Barrymore.

The last meeting between the teams took place in 2015, at the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, with Corinthians winning 3-0. Ten years later, the reunion happens in London, bringing together fans and players to celebrate the values and traditions that have united Brazilian and English football for over a century.
