Corinthians advance floodlight overhaul as Fazendinha edges towards clearance | OneFootball

Corinthians have begun replacing the remaining floodlights at Fazendinha, moving the stadium’s lighting upgrade towards completion. Work started on the side opposite the covered stand, the final area awaiting intervention.

According to Meu Timao, this is the penultimate phase. Once installation is finished, a specialist firm will align the beams to remove shadows on the pitch, then the ground will undergo technical inspections before any use is cleared.

Fazendinha has lighting on two sides. On the covered Numerada Norte stand, which uses smaller units, all replacements and tests have already been concluded. Focus now rests on the larger fixtures behind the uncovered stand.

The stadium has been barred from hosting night matches since May 2025 by the Federação Paulista de Futebol due to lighting failures. Unable to play evening games there, the Brabas staged fixtures elsewhere, including two in 2026 at Neo Química Arena that combined for a loss of more than R$ 100,000.

The club’s Department of Patrimony and Works led the wiring replacement and installation of new lights, purchased directly by Corinthians. The outlay has already surpassed R$ 400,000.

The in-house route followed three quotes from specialist companies, all above R$ two million, a figure deemed unviable in the current finances. The club therefore bought the equipment and executed most of the job with its own structure.

While the works near their end, Corinthians continue in the Brasileirão Feminino. They visit Botafogo at Nilton Santos at 19:00 on Friday 27, then are scheduled to host Red Bull Bragantino at 21:00 on the third, with the venue still to be defined.
