Meu Timao notes that Corinthians face Athletico Paranaense, looking to edge into the race for a 2027 Libertadores place. They do so with an imposing unbeaten record against Athletico at Neo Química Arena.

Athletico have the longest active winless streak as visitors there, spanning 11 matches. Corinthians have won six and drawn five of those, scoring 20 and conceding 10.

Despite fewer defeats than some rivals, Athletico top the list for most visits without a win. They sit ahead of Vasco da Gama, eight losses and two draws, and Fortaleza, four defeats and five draws.

The sequence was extended in September last year when Corinthians won 2-0 to reach the Copa do Brasil semi-finals. Gui Negão and Rodrigo Garro scored, and that campaign ended with Corinthians claiming a fourth title.

Casa do Povo could also witness a fifth straight league victory, after wins over Vasco da Gama 1-0, São Paulo 3-2, Atlético Mineiro 1-0 and Remo 3-0. A further success would replicate the five-in-a-row that closed 2024.

Fernando Diniz’s side are ninth with 28 points. Kick-off is 19:30 on Thursday in Itaquera, the 21st round of the Brasileirão.
