Corinthians were beaten 1-0 by Palmeiras in the first Dérbi of 2026 at Neo Química Arena, a Paulistão fixture.
According to Meu Timao, Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad, who is being lined up as a signing, watched from Memphis Depay's box. Peruvian midfielder André Carrillo was unavailable due to a left adductor issue.
Supporters delivered harsh player ratings after the defeat.
Coach Dorival Júnior felt the side played well but again underlined their difficulty turning pressure into goals.
Despite the return of José Martínez, he is not expected to be available to the staff in the coming days because of an injury.
The result prolonged a six-year wait for a win in the year's first Dérbi and ended a positive run against the rivals in Itaquera. It also meant Corinthians finished the first-phase clássicos without a victory.
The home loss denied Dorival Júnior's team the chance to go top of the first phase and dropped them one place in the table.
