Corinthians continued preparations for Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday, with André Carrillo back in partial training at CT Dr Joaquim Grava. The club said the Peruvian joined in part of the session after discomfort in his left adductor.

He was left out for the derby defeat to Palmeiras on Sunday at Neo Química Arena, in the seventh round of the Paulistão.

Tuesday’s work followed a recovery-focused return on Monday, starting with gym activation. After a warm-up, the group moved into possession drills.

Players who logged more than 45 minutes in the derby went back indoors for further recovery. The rest stayed on the pitch for attack-against-defence finishing, then a small-sided game.

Despite Carrillo’s return, there is a major absentee potentially for the whole season. José Martínez has an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee after delays to the reissue of his passport. No further details were disclosed.

Left-back Hugo Farias has a right knee meniscus injury and will undergo arthroscopy, and forward Kaio César has a right hamstring problem. Neither is available.

Dorival Júnior’s squad finish preparations on Wednesday morning. Corinthians face Red Bull Bragantino at 20:00 on Thursday at Neo Química Arena, in the third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, following defeat to Bahia in the opener.
