Corinthians chiefs value Brazilian title, target women's progress

The conquest of the women's Brazilian championship for the seventh time this Sunday, the 14th, at Neo Química Arena, was celebrated not only by the squad and coaching staff but also by the Corinthians board of directors. Fabinho Soldado, the club's football executive, highlighted the importance of the achievement and reinforced the integration between different categories of Timão.

“Women's football has already happened, and Corinthians is investing more and more every day and will continue to invest. Each season, the girls add to Corinthians' winning history. And it's another title that we are very pleased with, showing the integration between professional women's football and youth football. Everything is Corinthians, that's it.”, said the executive.

“But, on this day, I want to congratulate them, the coach, Piccinato, and his entire team. And the importance of Corinthians. Winning here at the Arena has a special flavor, winning at home is extraordinary. It shows the power of Corinthians at home in front of its fans. These are always emblematic moments that remain.”, he continued.

Meanwhile, president Osmar Stabile spoke about improvements to the structure dedicated to women's football, especially at Parque São Jorge, and revealed plans for an exclusive training center for the Brabas.

“So, regarding the headquarters, we are improving Parque São Jorge, the lighting, which was the main problem. We are working on it, we already have three quotes to make a decision. I think soon we'll have Parque São Jorge, Fazendinha, ready for them to play, we'll get the approval from the Paulista Federation and let them play.”, the president began.

“Now, if we talk about intentions, we intend to build a training center for women's football. This is a project we are working on. We are trying to get land next to the professional training center to build one for the women's team. I don't think any club in Brazil has this yet, but we are going to work for it. They deserve it, you can see they work hard, they organize themselves a lot so we can make Corinthians continue to be great in women's football.”, he continued.

According to Osmar Stabile, talks for the possible construction of a training center are already advancing towards a tripartite partnership involving different spheres of public power.

“Exactly, we have the World Cup coming up, with a venue here in São Paulo as well, so that's why we have this intention. We are talking with the Federal, Municipal, and State Governments so we can find a solution to have an exclusive training center for women's football.”, he commented.

In the following part of the interview given after the match, the president also emphasized that new sponsors are being sought to increase investment in the sport.

“Exactly, we are bringing in several other partners. We are talking, the intention is always to bring resources to Corinthians and we even invite other partners who want to come to women's football, men's football, youth football. We are always available to welcome them, to be able to place them in some space we have.”, he revealed.

Stabile also confirmed that the board is already working on maintaining the squad, ensuring that the group will remain strong for the coming seasons. “Yes. We will renew with some, yes. I don't know if there are any who want to leave, but from what I feel, no. And we will renew, yes. We will continue with a strong team.”

Corinthians now shifts its focus to the Women's Copa do Brasil. Next Wednesday, at 3pm, the Brabas face Juventude at Fazendinha, in a single match that is worth a spot in the quarterfinals.
