Corinthians have confirmed their line-up to face Platense in their Copa Libertadores Group E opener at Estadio Vicente López in Buenos Aires. Kick-off is at 21:00, and, as reported by Meu Timao, it doubles as Fernando Diniz’s first match in charge.
Hugo Souza starts in goal, with Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique and Matheus Bidu in defence. Raniele, André Luiz, Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro play behind Kayke and Yuri Alberto.
On the bench for up to five substitutions are Kauê, André Ramalho, Vitinho, Pedro Raul, André Carrillo, Matheus Pereira, Angileri, Zakaria Labyad, Iago Machado, Dieguinho and Jesse Lingard.
Platense, coached by Walter Zunino, start Matías Borgogno, with Juan Saborido, Ignacio Vázquez, Víctor Cuesta and Tomás Silva in defence. Amarfil, Pablo Ferreira, Lotti, Zapiola and Guido Mainero support Gonzalo Lencina.
Corinthians are winless in nine, a run that led to Dorival Júnior and his staff being dismissed after the 1-0 loss to Internacional in the Brasileirão last Saturday.
Unavailable through injury are João Pedro Tchoca, Pedro Milans, Hugo Farias, Charles, Memphis, Kaio César and Gui Negão.
Group E also features Peñarol and Independiente Santa Fe. The top two advance to the last 16, with third place dropping into the Copa Sudamericana playoff.
