Corinthians confirm new technical coordinator for youth academy

On the afternoon of this Tuesday (10), Corinthians officially announced the arrival of Ricardo Drubscky to take on the role of technical coordinator for its youth categories. The professional comes in to replace Robson Zimerman, whose dismissal was announced on the morning of last Monday (9) and who had held the position since August of last year. A former coach, Drubscky, in turn, arrives through the recommendation of Erasmo Damiani, the department executive.

In a statement released by Corinthians, the professional expressed his happiness at having been contacted by the club to take on the role and also detailed his way of working as a coordinator on a daily basis, citing his experience at other clubs: “I was very happy and satisfied when (football executive) Erasmo Damiani invited me to come here. It may sound like a cliché, but any professional would like to be at a club with the stature of Corinthians,” he began.

“On the occasions when I was not working as a coach, I performed coordination and management roles, so I am ready for this definitive career transition. I have always dedicated myself to understanding training, the game, and the important aspects of athlete development, and I hope to contribute with this experience to this powerhouse that is Corinthians,” he added.

Right after, Erasmo Damiani spoke about the arrival of the professional to take on a crucial role in supporting the development of young football players: “The arrival of Drubscky is another firm step in the restructuring of the Athlete Development Department. Besides his experience, he is one of the most respected people in football and, having the opportunity to bring him in, we didn’t think twice”, he commented.

With nearly 40 years of experience in Physical Education, Ricardo Drubscky has held various positions in football: coach, technical coordinator, fitness coach, and assistant coach. In addition, he has worked at more than 20 Brazilian football clubs, including Atlético-MG, Fluminense, and Athletico-PR. He also has international experience in countries such as Japan, Ecuador, and Portugal.

Ricardo Drubscky also teaches at the CBF Academy, a course for training coaches in Brazil. His last job as a technical coordinator was at Sport, between December 2023 and August 2024. Last year, he worked as a coach at Vila Nova and Itabirito, both teams from Minas Gerais.
