Corinthians have confirmed the return of Fabrizio Angileri, with the 31-year-old Argentine signing until the end of 2026. He had been without a club since his previous deal expired on 31 December 2025.

He has resumed partial training and is listed on the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, making him eligible to play.

Angileri still needs physical reconditioning after missing a proper pre-season while unattached. His last outing was the 2025 Copa do Brasil final, a 2-1 win over Vasco. His involvement against Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday at 20:30 remains uncertain.

Talks over a renewal stalled amid agent demands, and the club paused negotiations before reopening them in early February. The rethink followed difficulty finding a left-back on loan or free and an injury to Hugo Farias, back-up to Matheus Bidu. Attempts since August 2025 had not progressed, chiefly for financial reasons.

“Não tenha dúvidas (conto com ele), caso venha acontecer, ótimo. Na expectativa, pelo que foi passado está bem adiantado”, said head coach Dorival Júnior to Papo com Vessoni, a Meu Timao YouTube programme.

Angileri joined in February 2025 after leaving Getafe. He made 42 appearances, 26 starts, delivered two assists and helped win the Paulistão and Copa do Brasil in 2025. He was not in the Supercopa do Brasil squad and had been unattached for 40 days by Tuesday.
