The Liga Nacional de Futsal announced on Tuesday that Vídeo Suporte (VS), futsal’s equivalent of VAR, will be in use from the play-offs in both the top tier and LNF Silver. Corinthians are currently in the qualifying places and, if they advance, could have the technology available in their ties.

VS can be applied to goal or no goal, penalty incidents, direct red cards, mistaken identity and sixth-foul checks. It may also be triggered for clock malfunctions, goal confirmation or to judge if the ball crossed the line before the period-ending signal.

Each team is allowed one unsuccessful challenge per period, with no carryover, and one more in extra time.

Reviews are led by the referees via Revisão dos Árbitros (RA), who make the final decision after viewing the footage.

Corinthians sit 11th with three wins, four draws and seven defeats. If the regular stage ended today, they would face sixth-placed Carlos Barbosa, with the second leg at the higher seed.

If the tie brings two draws or one win each, extra time of two five-minute periods will follow, and if still level the higher-ranked side advances. One round remains, with Corinthians battling Minas and Tubarão for qualification, both on 12 points, Minas ahead on tiebreakers.

Corinthians decide their fate on 8 August when they host Pato Futsal at the Ginásio Wlamir Marques in the 15th and final round. Before that, they face Impacto at 20:00 on Thursday in the Campeonato Paulista at Parque São Jorge.
