Corinthians Deliberative Council sets August hearings over possible expulsions | OneFootball

Romeu Tuma Júnior, president of Corinthians’ Deliberative Council, has set extraordinary sessions for 3 and 10 August at Teatro do Parque São Jorge to hear disciplinary cases.

The agenda was split due to complexity, and to safeguard due process and defence rights, according to Meu Timao.

The 3 August sitting will hear cases involving Mario Mello Junior, Manoel Ramos Evangelista, known as Mané da Carne, and Marcelo Mariano. Mello’s case was tabled on 8 June but no vote took place for medical reasons.

Other proceedings follow the events of 31 May 2025, when allies of ex-president Augusto Melo, then provisionally suspended, entered Parque São Jorge to reinstate him. An appeal will be heard before any decision on the commission’s recommendation for removal.

Mané da Carne and Mariano will be assessed without appeal, having missed the deadline. The former is accused of threatening violence and a racist insult against councillors, while the latter is cited over the VaideBet case, in which he is a defendant in São Paulo.

On 10 August, the docket lists Claudinei Alves, Valmir Costa and Paulo Cesar de Andrade Prado. Claudinei and Valmir, part of Melo’s youth set-up, were removed over the 31 May episode then granted a suspensive effect in July, and their appeals against removal will be heard. Paulo Cesar could be readmitted after a favourable opinion, with the associates’ ethics commission backing his return.

The first session may continue into the next if required, and only parties to cases and eligible councillors may attend.
