Corinthians drop into LNF play-off zone and face relegation risk | OneFootball

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have fallen into the Liga Nacional de Futsal relegation play-off places and are at risk of the drop after round nine. This follows Sunday’s defeat to Campo Mourão and Monday’s draw between Santo André and Marreco, leaving them no higher than 14th.

Under competition rules, 14th must play a one-off tie against the third-placed side in LNF Silver for a 2027 top-flight berth.

Corinthians have five points from nine games, with one win, two draws and six losses, an 18.5% return. Fernando Malafaia’s side were overtaken by Santo André, who moved to six points and 13th, the first spot outside the qualification zone.

Marreco sit on four points and São José have two at the foot. With the new format, the bottom two go down automatically to LNF Silver. São José still play Umuarama on Tuesday and would need a six-goal swing to leapfrog Corinthians.

The run includes no league wins since 3 April 2026, when they beat Magnus 2-0 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques in round two. Since then, they have suffered five defeats and drawn twice.

The squad is in transition amid cost-cutting led by president Osmar Stabile, shifting focus towards academy products. Last season the club reached the finals of the Super Copa Gramado, the LNF and the Campeonato Paulista, and won the Taça São Paulo and Spain’s Torneo Mucho Más.

Results elsewhere have been mixed in 2026. They lost the Super Copa Gramado quarter-final on penalties to Atlântico Erechim and went out of the Copa LNF in the last 16 after a 4-1 defeat by São Lourenço of the second tier. In the Campeonato Paulista they are third on 16 points from six, one behind leaders São José on 17 who have played two more games.

Corinthians host Tubarão on Saturday at 19:30 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques in round 10. Victory could take them up to 11th and back inside the play-off positions.
