Corinthians extend loan for injured full-back at São Paulo club

Throughout the afternoon of this Friday (30), Corinthians registered, in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID), the contract renewal of left-back João Vitor Tabone (2005), who belongs to the Under-20 team and is loaned to São José, a club in the interior of São Paulo, until the end of his contract with the club from Parque São Jorge.

The athlete's contract with Corinthians was set to expire at the end of this month. However, according to Meu Timão, the left-back ended up suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his left knee. In such cases, Brazilian law requires clubs to renew contracts until the player fully recovers from a specific injury.

Additionally, according to Meu Timão, João Tabone is undergoing all his recovery monitoring with the professionals at São José and also visits the Corinthians training center every month to be observed by the club. The report also stated that his recovery is expected to be completed by May, precisely the period during which his contract with Alvinegro was renewed. After this period, the player is expected to be released.

João Vitor Tabone was one of the first of the 87 signings (considering only Under-17 and 20) made by the Augusto Melo administration (January 2024 to May 2025) after a stint at Ponte Preta, but in the Corinthians youth system, he did not have many opportunities, missing out on most of the Under-20 category games. His debut occurred only four months after being signed, and subsequently, he played in only three other occasions.

After Augusto Melo was removed from the presidency and the departure of the professionals he brought in to work in the youth categories, the Osmar Stabile administration has been implementing significant changes in the department. Carlos Roberto Aurrichio (Nenê do Posto), statutory director, and Erasmo Damiani (executive) have streamlined the number of athletes, dismissing several young players brought in by the previous administration and renewing contracts of the main prospects to protect the club from foreign interests.
