Corinthians have shut down talks with Botafogo over Arthur Cabral and with Portuguesa for Renê, and will not make further signings before the window closes.
According to Globo.com, the decision follows a financial restructuring plan, leaving the squad set for the Conmebol Libertadores.
In recent days, Corinthians were close to an agreement with Botafogo for Arthur Cabral, but the striker's salary exceeded the club's parameters. A proposal to split wages was made, which Botafogo rejected.
For Renê, a standout for Portuguesa in the Campeonato Paulista, Corinthians offered a loan, while the São Paulo club insisted on a sale. With no cash available for transfers, Corinthians withdrew.
As the exceptional state-championship window ends on Friday, Corinthians will not add players until mid-season. The club begin their Libertadores campaign on nine April in Argentina against Platense, and also have Copa do Brasil and Campeonato Brasileiro commitments.
