Corinthians meet Athletico-PR, five months after cup victory

Corinthians visits Athletico-PR on the night of this Thursday (19th), at 7:30 PM (Brasília time), at Arena da Baixada, in a rescheduled match for the second round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. The Alvinegro Paulista meets the Paraná team again five months after defeating them in the Copa do Brasil.

The last meeting between Corinthians and Athletico-PR was on September 10th, in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals. The match took place at Neo Química Arena and the team led by Dorival Júnior won 2-0, with goals from Rodrigo Garro and Gui Negão, securing a spot in the semifinals.

The first leg had been played on August 27th, also at Arena da Baixada, the venue for this Thursday's clash. The result was also positive for Corinthians, who won 1-0, with a goal scored by forward Gui Negão.

In addition to the positive streak, the overall record of the matchup also favors Timão.
