Corinthians risk losing four players for Paulistão Derby

On Sunday night (8th), at 8:30 PM, Corinthians will host Palmeiras at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the seventh round of the first phase of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. At this moment, Alvinegro occupies fourth place in the overall standings with 11 points (three wins, two draws, and one loss – nine goals scored and five conceded).

For the Derby against their biggest rival, the Corinthians coaching staff may have up to four absences: defender Cacá (in negotiations with Athletico-PR), left-back Hugo Farias (right knee injury), midfielder José Martínez (recently returned), and forward Kaio César (muscle injury in the right thigh).

In addition, Alvinegro will have to pay attention to players who are one yellow card away from suspension. If they receive a third yellow card, they will not face São Bernardo FC next Sunday (15th), at 8:30 PM, at 1° de Maio, in the eighth and final round of the first phase of the Paulistão. They are: midfielders André, André Carrillo, and Matheus Pereira, as well as forward Yuri Alberto.

If they secure three points against their biggest rival, Corinthians could jump to second place, reaching 14 points. At the moment, the overall leader is Novorizontino, who has the same number of points but a better goal difference than Alvinegro (eight to four).
