Corinthians seek inquiry into Adriano Monteiro Alves over alleged fraud | OneFootball

On Monday, Corinthians lodged a criminal complaint at São Paulo’s 52nd Police District, seeking an inquiry into Adriano Monteiro Alves for alleged structured fraud and attempted fraud over alleged misuse of its name, brand and structure, according to Globo.com.

The club allege he used his seat on the Deliberative Council’s Marketing Commission, and his status as brother of former president Duilio Monteiro Alves, to pursue deals without board approval.

The complaint cites a 36-month exclusivity with Plug Financeira to integrate a payment system into the “Universo SCCP” app and platforms run by Liga Tech, with an R$ 750,000 advance.

That advance was allegedly to be paid to Ervas da Amazônia Ltda, registered to Aldilene Francisca de Moraes, whom the complaint called a lawyer, with meetings allegedly at her office.

Corinthians say they learned of the talks when a Plug representative visited Parque São Jorge seeking president Osmar Stabile to formalise the deal. The board say they were surprised and asked police to open an inquiry after gathering evidence.

Adriano Monteiro Alves called the accusations unfounded, said they distract from what matters and claimed there are moves that affront the Statute and suggest an attempted coup. He said he will pursue civil and criminal action to defend his honour and reputation.

Ervas da Amazônia said Plug approached it for possible consultancy, talks did not advance, no contract was signed and no money was received. It said the draft was preliminary, that Aldilene is a business consultant, not a lawyer, and denied political involvement.
