Corinthians set for Copa do Brasil final, Hugo Souza eyes Vasco

Corinthians is ready for its last game in 2025. On the morning of this Saturday (20th), the team completed its preparations at the Joaquim Grava Training Center to face Vasco at Maracanã in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil final. The match, which takes place this Sunday (21st) at 6 PM (Brasília time), must be won by Timão for the fourth championship of the tournament to be secured in regular time – after all, at the Neo Química Arena, the teams drew with no goals.

The preparation for the grand final began in the briefing room, where coach Dorival Júnior and his technical staff presented instructions and video analyses specifically focused on the duel. Then, the team performed a physical activation in the gym and continued on the field with warm-ups.

On the field, Dorival led a confrontation exercise in a reduced space, followed by a tactical activity and a repetition of set-piece plays, both offensive and defensive. Finally, the players practiced penalty kicks, in preparation for a possible title decision by penalties – which could occur if Sunday's game also ends in a draw.

After the training, goalkeeper Hugo Souza spoke to Corinthians TV about the duel: “It's the day we've all been waiting for. We've waited the whole year to get here and, thank God, we made it. We have to control the anxiety, control all this feeling we're experiencing, of wanting to win, of wanting to make history. We want to turn this into motivation so we can play a great game, pursue our dream. We want to make history. We want to bring this joy to our fans”, he stated.
