Corinthians stars join Brazil women’s team after sixth Libertadores title

Two days after winning the sixth title of the Conmebol Libertadores Feminina (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025) on penalties, following a goalless draw in regular time against Deportivo Cali from Colombia, three Corinthians athletes joined the Brazilian National Team in England, in Manchester, for two friendlies during the October FIFA Date.

They are: defenders Mariza and Thais Ferreira, along with midfielder Duda Sampaio. The trio will be present in the friendlies against England at the Etihad Stadium on October 25, Saturday, at 1:30 PM (Brasília time), and Italy on the 28th, at 1:15 PM (Brasília time), at Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma, at 1:15 PM.

Both matches aim to prepare for upcoming tournaments, including the 2027 World Cup, which will take place in Brazil. The athletes start training this Tuesday (21). It is worth noting that the Brabas were given a week off after an intense marathon of matches in the Libertadores Feminina.

They will return to the field only on November 1, at 11 AM (Brasília time), to face São Paulo at Fazendinha, in the Majestic classic for the 11th round of the Paulistão Feminino, in which they are already qualified for the semifinals.

In addition to the Brazilian trio, midfielder Dayana Rodríguez will also represent the Venezuelan National Team in matches against Chile and Paraguay, both away, on October 24 and 28, in matches for the Women's Nations League – which grants a spot in the Women's World Cup.
