Corinthians were surprised when Torino pulled out of a loan for João Pedro Tchoca after he failed a medical. The 22-year-old will return to Brazil in the coming days and undergo new evaluations at CT Joaquim Grava.

According to Globo.com, the club view the Italian side’s decision as a medical interpretation, noting he has no chronic issue and had been regularly involved by Dorival Júnior.

Tchoca made 29 appearances in 2025 and has logged 49 minutes this season. He also spent 2024 on loan at Ceará.

He suffered a serious left-knee injury in October 2019 while in the academy, but has not had physical problems as a Corinthians professional. The medical department do not believe Torino’s findings are linked to that earlier surgery.

Corinthians will not release the Italian club’s test results. With his return, the board end their search for another centre-back for Dorival Júnior’s defence, and Tchoca will wear the number four shirt.
