Corinthians to miss three for final Brasileirão clash with Juventude

On the afternoon of this Sunday (7th), at 4pm (Brasília time), Corinthians will host Juventude at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the 38th and final round of the Brazilian Championship. At this moment, the Alvinegro occupies the tenth position with 46 points (12 wins, 10 draws, and 15 losses – 41 goals scored and 46 conceded).

The Corinthians coaching staff is expected to have three absences for the match against the team from the south: midfielder Rodrigo Garro (muscle strain in the soleus of the right calf), as well as forwards Yuri Alberto (edema in the pubic symphysis and overload of the left leg adductor muscle) and Memphis Depay (final stage of physical transition after a bone edema in the knee).

Corinthians is focusing its efforts on having the trio recovered for the two matches of the Copa do Brasil semifinals, against Cruzeiro, on December 10 (Wednesday – Mineirão) and December 14 (Sunday – Neo Química Arena). For this Sunday’s match, the Alvinegro will have the return of right-back Matheuzinho and midfielder Charles, as both served suspensions against Fortaleza last Wednesday (3rd).

Additionally, according to journalist Luis Fabiani from Rádio Bandeirantes, midfielder Gui Amorim (born 2008), one of the standouts of Corinthians’ youth categories and top scorer of the U-17 in 2025 with 20 goals, is expected to appear on the bench for the match against Juventude.

According to Itatiaia, Corinthians should start Sunday’s match with an alternative lineup: Hugo Souza; José Martínez, João Pedro Tchoca (André Ramalho) and Fabrizio Angileri; Ryan, Charles, André Luiz (Bahia) and Kayke; Romero and Gui Negão (Talles Magno).

Corinthians has five players with two yellow cards: defender Gustavo Henrique, left-back Matheus Bidu, midfielder Charles, midfielder Breno Bidon, and forward Talles Magno. If they receive a third yellow card, they will not need to serve a suspension in the first round of the 2026 Brasileirão, only in case of a red card, according to the CBF’s General Competition Regulations (RGC).

It is worth noting that Corinthians can only finish the Brasileirão in a maximum of ninth place, if RB Bragantino loses to Internacional away from home this Sunday. A draw is enough for the Alvinegro to secure a spot in the 2025 Conmebol Sudamericana. A spot in the Libertadores will only be possible if the club wins the Copa do Brasil.
