Corinthians Under-17 starlet catches Dorival Júnior’s eye

One of the main highlights of Corinthians' youth categories, midfielder Gui Amorim from the Under-17 team, has been gaining space in the main team's training sessions. According to Luis Fabiani from Rádio Bandeirantes, during this Monday morning's training session (13th) – part of which was open to the press – the player received special attention from the football executive Fabinho Soldado and coach Dorival Júnior.

Moreover, according to journalists, the Corinthians technical staff informed the player that his presence in the professional squad's activities will become increasingly frequent and that soon he will receive an opportunity in the main Alvinegro team. He had already participated in some activities last week.

It is worth noting that Gui Amorim is registered by Corinthians in the Brazilian Championship. According to Itatiaia, the player was initially supposed to train with the club's Under-17 team this Monday – he is not on vacation yet despite the eliminations in the national and state tournaments last Saturday morning (11th).

However, Dorival Júnior requested the athlete's presence in the main team's training. Like midfielder Thomas Lisboa (2005), both are expected to be constantly observed by the technical staff. Gui Amorim is expected to join Corinthians' Under-20 squad – which is currently on vacation – starting in November, beginning preparations for the 2026 São Paulo Cup, which starts in early January.

Until then, there is a possibility that Gui Amorim will gain some experience in the professional team or even be prepared to be used in the 2026 season. Recently, the player had a contractual addendum with Corinthians, where he received a salary increase and consequently an increase in his national and international release clauses – R$ 50 million for the Brazilian market and 50 million euros (R$ 315.3 million) for international football. His contract ends in mid-2027.

This season, Gui Amorim has accumulated 36 games – combining Corinthians' Under-17 and 20 teams (35 with the younger team), scoring 20 goals and providing 15 assists during this period.
