Corinthians are working to protect their squad and keep Fernando Diniz’s side competitive despite a transfer ban and possible exits.
According to Globo.com, the club posted a R$ 131.1 million first-quarter deficit and estimate they must raise about 25 million euros net, R$ 144.1 million, in the mid-year market. The 2026 budget projects R$ 151 million from sales and Fifa solidarity.
Despite efforts to retain players, departures could happen. Yuri Alberto wants to move abroad in the second half of the year and remains focused on Europe, despite Diniz later saying he regretted those comments. The board would only sell for more than 20 million euros for 50% of his rights, about R$ 117.7 million.
Midfielders Breno Bidon and André have no official bids, but are being tracked by European clubs. André received an offer from Milan in February, it did not advance and he stayed. Goalkeeper Hugo Souza, plus full-backs Matheuzinho and Matheus Bidu, could also draw proposals.
With the transfer ban active due to a debt to Philadelphia Union over José Martínez’s 2024 signing, around US$ 1.5 million, Corinthians cannot register newcomers. There are no advanced talks or fixed targets, though they are monitoring options that fit their finances. Diniz has said targeted additions are planned.
Attack is viewed as the main gap. The club want pace out wide, a profile typified by Kaio César, and are weighing a centre-forward. This reflects a possible Yuri Alberto exit and limited minutes for Pedro Raul and Gui Negão.
