Could Saibari be a quick fix for Bayern? Eredivisie expert is skeptical | OneFootball

FC Bayern will officially confirm the signing of Ismael Saibari in July. He has already passed his medical exam, and the digital signature has been completed. Fans and experts are eagerly anticipating the Moroccan’s time at FC Bayern. 

At the World Cup currently underway in North America, Saibari has made an immediate impression. He scored a goal right away against Brazil and Scotland and was very active in both games.

The versatile player is expected to provide the record champions with more options on offense and allow them to play with even greater flexibility.

A few questions remain regarding the deal and the player himself. However, it recently came to light that sporting director Max Eberl apparently negotiated the Saibari deal very well, and the transfer will ultimately cost a little less than initially expected.

But can Saibari help FC Bayern right from the start of the new season? Will he perhaps need to get used to the high level of play first? These questions are certainly valid; after all, at 25, he’s still playing in the Eredivisie.

Many players take the big leap earlier. Lars Unnerstall, the former Schalke 04 goalkeeper who currently plays for FC Twente, spoke about Saibari in the latest issue of SportBILD. And he predicts that Saibari will face at least some adjustment problems.

“Players who come from the Eredivisie to a top club in the Bundesliga often need at least half a year to find their footing. Saibari’s national teammate Noussair Mazraoui, for example, wasn’t an immediate starter in Munich either,” Unnerstall explained.

He also cited the reason: “The pace is faster, and above all, the Bundesliga is physically tougher and more robust than the Eredivisie. Saibari won’t dominate everything right away.”

Nevertheless, he’s convinced that Saibari can help Bayern. “But he’ll definitely be an asset to the Bundesliga; Bayern will be more dangerous and versatile with him. My fellow defenders and I never looked forward to playing against him. He totally annoyed and frustrated us,” said Unnerstall.
