Could still be Champions League bombshell dropped with 115 Manchester City charges

Midlands rivals Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest haven’t won the FA Cup since the 1950s, the same as Newcastle United.
In this weekend’s semi-finals at Wembley, both of them bit the dust with little more than a whimper.
I would like to think that the disappointment will have an impact on their respective remaining Premier League fixtures.
As I have recently stated, the hype surrounding Aston Villa over the last few weeks has been way over the top.
It’s as if the media already know that the Septic Six cartel is on the verge of being permanently dismantled, but that they want their own self elected darlings Aston Villa to be the leaders of the revolution.
Villa may have more strength in depth than Newcastle United but they aren’t a better or bigger club than us as things currently stand.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest have had a wonderful Premier League season and I for one am happy to see them back amongst the big boys.
The race for the Champions League places has never been so tight and so fierce as what we are currently encountering in 2025.
Liverpool are worthy Champions and Arsenal are the Premier League’s undisputed second best team (even though Newcastle United have dusted them three times already this season…).
With four matches to go, United sit third, followed by Manchester City, Chelsea and Forest (who have a game in hand), Villa back in seventh place.
In an ideal scenario, I would prefer Forest to finish below us but above the rest. Man City seem to be coming into a run of form though, like they often do at the business end of the season.
Don’t forget though, there could still be a bombshell dropped with the 115 Manchester City charges.
Chelsea are an enigma, a team of mercenaries banded together by an Americanised philosophy. I would like to think that what they are doing and seemingly getting away with, is ultimately unsustainable.
I’m going to give you it straight and say that Aston Villa, who beat us so comprehensively little over a week ago, are in my opinion, out of the running for Champions League football. A week’s a long time in football and they have now just suffered two crushing defeats.
There is disharmony in Unai Emery’s camp and is anyone actually buying into the “greatness” of loan boys Rashford and Asensio?
Everything is now in our own hands.
Newcastle United have got ourselves into this position due to excellent results gathered before and after our famous Cup win at Wembley.
Some may have thought that after finally breaking our long trophy drought, that we could have slacked off.
We have even recently had to get on and cope without our illustrious leader King Eddie. These were worrying times indeed.
I am now more than ever extremely confident that United will crack on and successfully navigate ourselves back to Europe’s top table.
