The 2025/26 Women's Super League season is heating up with a huge weekend of action that sees four potential title challengers facing off.
Champions Chelsea, European champions Arsenal, and the two Manchester sides have all been competing for the title in recent years, even if it is the Blues who inevitably come out on top in the end.
A thrilling WSL weekend will kick off on Friday evening as second-place Manchester United take on league leaders Chelsea.
Both of these teams are unbeaten after four games with Sonia Bompastor's side winning all four of their games while United only dropped points in a draw against Arsenal.
While goals are expected – both Aggie Beever-Jones and Melvine Malard top the scorers charts with four each – this game also sees the two meanest defences against each other.
History certainly favours Chelsea, with United only ever managing one victory over the London side – an FA Cup semi-final win back in April 2024.
The day after that big clash at Leigh Sports Village, the Joie Stadium will host Manchester City's game against Arsenal.
The Citizens have won all four of their games since that opening day defeat to Chelsea, including a big 4-1 win at home to London City Lionesses last time out, having already put five past Spurs this season.
Renée Slegers' side will know that their defence has to be at its best with Khadija Shaw scoring twice in that game and Gunners legend Vivianne Miedema also netting her third goal in as many games.
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from two games without a win. While the goalless draw with United was a fair result, the North London side will be aggrieved at conceding a 94th minute goal by Lucy Parker at home to Aston Villa after Frida Maanum had given them an early lead.
While we're still only four games into the season, these are games that can have a massive impact when it comes to deciding who makes it into Europe and who takes the glory.
