Cry some more Mikel Arteta

Artikelbild:Cry some more Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta made it three defeats in four visits to St James’ Park against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

Almost exactly 12 months ago it was a deserved 1-0 win for Newcastle over the Gunners.

We never heard the last of it as Mikel Arteta and the entire club behaved disgracefully, refusing to accept they were beaten fair and square.

It was more of the same today.

A very much well deserved 1-0 home win for Newcastle, .

Last season, Arsenal registered one effort on target, which was a tame effort straight at Nick Pope.

The stats today showed Newcastle with four efforts on target and Arsenal once again just a single effort on target. To be honest though, I don’t even remember Nick Pope having that single save to make.

Seeing the Spaniard’s face after losing once again on Tyneside is lovely to see, cry some more Mikel Arteta.

Mikel Arteta after losing once again at St James’ Park:

“Well I think we started the game really well and we were very dominant and created some situations and playing in the right way that we wanted.

“We had that control.

“After long ball, second ball, ball was wide, they put in an unbelievable delivery, we don’t defend those two actions well enough, but credit to them for doing that.

“Then you know you have to play a different game.

“They try to drag you into a certain way of playing the game and we didn’t have enough answers, to be more of a threat consistently.

“A goal would have changed it completely.

“We had two or three big chances but we didn’t put them away.

“Credit to them for what they did and how they do it.

“With us, with the ball, we were very inconsistent.

“We created at least three big chances to score a goal but we didn’t.”
