Crystal Palace have approached Leicester City over a deal for Bilal El Khannouss as Eberechi Eze’s future increasingly lies away from Selhurst Park, according to The Athletic.

Eberechi Eze has been one of Crystal Palace’s standout performers in recent seasons due to his ability to influence games.

However, his contributions have attracted significant interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who are both keen on landing him this summer.

With Eze’s departure looming, Palace are already working on a potential replacement to fill the creative void he will inevitably leave behind, and Bilal El Khannouss has emerged as the top target.

The Moroccan international midfielder joined Leicester from Belgian side Genk in August 2024 for a reported £19 million.

Despite Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League last season, El Khannouss gave a good account of himself with his technical ability and has been linked with several clubs.

While no official offer has been submitted, Palace are in discussions with Leicester to explore a potential deal which could accelerate in the coming days depending on Eze’s future.

El Khannouss’s rise has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with Premier League newcomers Leeds United also interested in acquiring the 21-year-old’s services.

As speculations over his future continue, El Khannouss was left out of Leicester’s starting XI for their EFL Cup defeat to Huddersfield Town, although he did come off the bench to miss his spot-kick during the shootout.

Prior to that, El Khannouss served up a man-of-the-match display in his side’s Championship curtain raiser against Sheffield Wednesday, supplying two assists en route to a comeback 2-1 victory.
