Crystal Palace are one of several clubs monitoring Andoni Iraola’s situation at Bournemouth, according to the BBC.

The Spaniard’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Cherries have yet to make progress on extending his deal, despite talks with owner Bill Foley last April.

Iraola is considered one of the best coaches in the Premier League. He guided Bournemouth to a ninth-placed finish last term and a club-record top-flight points tally of 56.

With Bournemouth losing several players in the past two transfer windows, Iraola could now be open to a new challenge away from the Vitality Stadium.

The former Rayo Vallecano manager is understood to favour ‘stability, coupled with a directive to build a team in his mould’ – factors likely to influence his next move.

He is unlikely to get those guarantees at Palace, given their track record of selling key players – most recently Marc Guehi to Manchester City.

With Manchester United looking for a permanent manager and a possible vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur, Iraola will be aiming to join a club further up the ladder.

Tottenham could be a viable proposition, with current boss Thomas Frank under severe pressure following a disappointing run of results.
