Crystal Palace have expressed interest in João Gomes, with a sale viewed as a matter of time following Wolves’ relegation to the Championship.

Palace are likely to compete with Atlético Madrid for the 25-year-old, and Wolves expect offers of around £40 million to sanction a sale. According to Lance!, the Brazilian wants to remain in the Premier League, which could aid Palace in any battle with the Spaniards.

Gomes has been at Wolves since 2023 and is under contract until 2030. With demotion confirmed, the club are expected to move players on to navigate the drop.

He has become increasingly in demand, and there have been rumours that Manchester United previously looked at the midfielder.

Flamengo are not currently seen as suitors, though a future transfer could deliver funds to the Rio club as his formative side.

Meanwhile, Flamengo visit Estudiantes on Wednesday 29 in Argentina in Libertadores Group A, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time. The match will be shown on Rede Globo and Paramount+.
