The uncle stressed the affection for the player, saying, "As a family we are happy for him, it has been a big step, but colours do not change in a moment. We have to take it in, he has already taken it in."

There was a contrasting note at home, as his partner Claudia Rodríguez, a well-known Madridista, celebrated on social media, writing, "I am bursting with pride and happiness.
